Recently I join the RWVA, The Revolutionary War Veterans Association. Now, I’m reasonably certain (although not 100% sure) that none of my ancestry actually fought in the Revolution. However, I don’t believe that’s a requirement for membership. Incidentally, these are the folks responsible for conducting the Project Appleseed events. These are the instructional shooting events that operate under the premise that we began as a nation of riflemen and we should be again. I emphatically agree. Thus I joined and soon will be participating in my very first Project Appleseed shooting event. I am proud to be a part of such an organization. They have created an excellent blend of rifle marksmanship training and accurate instruction on the Revolution and our country’s prestigious heritage. I’m excited to be a participant. I believe in what they teach and have decided it’s an excellent place to introduce others to shooting as well as the absolute importance of our Constitution and the right to bear arms. So, I invited three newbies who are heading to the event with me. Hopefully, it will make a very positive impression on them that will last throughout their lifetime. We’ll see. At any rate, it should be great fun and hopefully at least someone in our group will make Rifleman!
